Sherry Raffin is the first KWF Award recipient from The Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region. A Lion of Judah for over 15 years, she served on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region, and as Executive Committee as secretary. She has chaired Federation’s Annual Women’s event, Connections, as well as co-chaired the Sacramento Region’s annual AIPAC Luncheon.
Sherry began her service to the Jewish community, first with Hadassah, serving as vice president of Education and then Fundraising and ultimately chapter president, to joining the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), as well as the Executive Committee at Peninsula Temple Shalom's Sisterhood in Burlingame, California. Sherry’s dedication to her community reaches beyond just the Jewish community, as she has also served as the president of the Tourette’s Syndrome Association of Northern California.
Born in St. Louis, where she met her husband of 50 years, Dr. Steven Raffin, the couple moved to the Bay Area in 1994, when she immediately immersed herself in her new community. She served on the Board of Directors for Temple Or Rishon (TOR), where she was honored as the TOR Woman of Distinction.
