While each of us plays many roles throughout our lifetimes, my central identity that informs each of my other roles—daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, attorney, volunteer—is being a Jewish woman, committed to our heritage and our peoplehood. While I often have thought of myself as a link in an unbroken chain of our people, from Biblical times forward, becoming a Lion and participating in the International Lion of Judah Conferences provides me a different perspective—not only of the continuum from the past to the future, but also of the breadth of our collective impact throughout the Diaspora and in the Homeland in the present. Joining with women of all ages and from across the globe refreshes my faith that our Jewish communities will continue to serve those in need, preserve our history, and engage people of all ages to lead lives of meaning.
