I became a Lion of Judah because giving back to the Jewish community was the example set for me throughout my entire life. I watched my father spend his days building a successful business and his evenings raising funds for Jewish causes, while my mother proudly wore her Lion of Judah pin in both Pittsburgh and Sarasota. She often reminded me, “We have to help the Jews because no one else will,” and those words have stayed with me always. Through my work with Federation, fighting antisemitism, and supporting Jewish life, I have tried to carry those values forward for my children and grandchildren. My Lion pin reminds me not only of my parents, but of the responsibility to help ensure a strong Jewish future for the next generation. Wearing it makes me feel proud to continue a legacy of generosity, commitment, and love for the Jewish people.
