I grew up with very supportive grandparents and parents who generously gave of their time and funds to many organizations. I’d like to think that some of that rubbed off on me.
My mother often said that if you can give, don’t do it anonymously. Let others see what you have contributed and hopefully that will encourage them to support community, too, whether it be financially or with their time.
For over 40 years, my husband and I have volunteered and supported organizations both within and beyond the Jewish community, and we have gained much from those experiences.
We are now at a stage in our lives that we can also contribute more financially. I am a huge believer that endowing funds to support our community long after we are gone is vital, and our endowment fund will ensure that I am a proud Lion of Judah in perpetuity.
