Chair of the Board,
The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles
Julie Beren Platt is a pillar of Los Angeles Jewish life and American Jewish philanthropy. From Kansas to Philadelphia to LA, and from camp to Hillel to the board room, Julie has gained a unique appreciation for the diverse and thriving Jewish communities she strives to serve. In each organization she is involved in, she is always eager to volunteer, forge new relationships, and do good. A graduate of the Wexner Heritage Program, Julie sits on the executive committee of The Jewish Federations of North America and is board chair of the Foundation for Jewish Camp. Locally, she chairs the board of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and previously served as Chair of Women’s and the General Campaign. She is also a member and past chair of both the advisory board of the Zeigler School of Rabbinic Studies and the board of Camp Ramah in California. Two of the most important places in Julie’s life are the University of Pennsylvania and its Hillel, where she got her first taste of Jewish leadership, took her first step toward a career in corporate banking, and met her husband of 39 years and counting, Marc Platt. Committed to giving back to both institutions, she serves as a member of Penn’s Board of Trustees and as the immediate past co-chair of Penn Hillel’s national board of governors.
