Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy is the founder and chair of the Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas against Women and Children and the Dvora Institute for Gender and Sustainability Studies. Known for her impactful work in gender equality and human rights, she has spearheaded national and global efforts addressing the sexual abuse and gender-based atrocities of October 7th. Her significant contributions include leading a global campaign to amplify victims' voices and establishing an archive documenting these war crimes. An expert in international law and feminist theories, Dr. Elkayam-Levy teaches at Hebrew University and Reichman University and serves as a Senior Fellow at the Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. She received the 2024 Israel Prize in Solidarity and was honored with the Medal of Distinction by the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation.
