Kim Hartman
Chair of Women’s Philanthropy and member of UJA New York’s Board of Directors Executive Committee
Kim Hartman has spent decades passionately giving her time to making the world a better place. She is currently the Chair of Women’s Philanthropy and is a member of UJA New York’s Board of Directors Executive Committee. In addition she is on the Board of Directors for JFNA(Jewish Federations of North America) and is a member of the 2023 Class of JFNA’s National Women’s Philanthropy Board.
She is a member of the Executive Committee at Temple Emanu-El as well as the Streicker Center. She serves on the Manhattan Women’s Committee for both AIPAC and AJC is on the Executive Committee of Thrive, an immersive study abroad program in Israel.
Outside of Jewish causes, she co-chairs Food Allergy Research and Education’s (FARE) Board of Governors and is a Vice President of Excellence Community Schools (A charter management organization in NYC and CT).
With their three children, she and her husband Alan founded The Fund for New Leadership, a philanthropic venture that provides early support to emerging social change leaders from across the country.
In the days following Oct 7th the Hartman Family started a micro-grant fund to support volunteer efforts of Israelis across the country supporting each other and their communities. The Day Break Fund (https://shaharisrael.co.il/english/. In addition to this work in Israel, she is helping to spearhead the Tribe of Nova Foundation US Board.
Kim is a semi-retired interior designer in NYC, decorating homes and commercial spaces. Prior to design, she held numerous corporate jobs, including at Macy’s and Trust Company of the West.
She graduated from Tufts University J’85 where she has served on the board of the Derby Entrepreneur Center for the last fifteen years. She holds an MBA in Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and their 2 dogs, Missy and Maverick. Their adult children (Katie and Ben, Max, and Andy) live in NYC as well.
